Candied pecans are a real treat, easy to make, and make a perfect holiday appetizer, snack, or a great addition to salads and desserts.
Candied pecans are so easy to make and they’re perfect for holiday snacking or gift-giving. At Kitchen Kneads, we pride ourselves on high quality nuts. We sell what are called mammoth pecan halves and they’re called that for a reason: they’re large. Very large. They range in size from 1-inch to 1 1/2 inches. That makes for great presentation and wow factor.
Candied Pecans
2 egg whites
2 T water
1 cup sugar*
1 tsp salt*
1 tsp cinnamon*
4 cups (1 pound) pecan halves*
Preheat oven to 225. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites and water until foamy. Add pecans and stir to coat.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Pour over pecans and stir to coat.
Spread pecans on a parchment*-lined baking sheet* and bake for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
