Strawberry Pie Pops
Let me share with you today something delightful that you can make on a whim when you need a special little treat for a special occasion of just to satisfy a sweet tooth. These pie pops are basically little hand pies, but I’ve added a stick to make them more fun for the kids.
You probably have all the ingredients in your pantry right now, so let’s get to it.
Supplies needed:
- Pie Crust Recipe (Here’s a fantastic one if you need.)
- Strawberry Jam
- Chocolate Chips (Optional)
- Cookie Cutters (I used a heart shaped one for Valentine’s Day)
- Sucker Sticks (We have these very cute Valentine’s ones in our store.)
First, make your pie crust. Roll it out to about 1/8″ thick (maybe a little thicker, depending on how you like it). Cut your desired shape out of the rolled out dough with a cookie cutter. Repeat until you have used all your dough.
Divide your dough shapes in half and lay half on a silpat or parchment-lined baking sheet. Put about a teaspoon of strawberry jam in the center of each shape. Add a few chocolate chips if you’d like. Next, add a sucker stick. (The stick isn’t absolutely necessary, but it sure does make them fun.)
Place the other half of your dough shapes on top of each bottom piece and seal the edges with the tines of a fork.
Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before picking them up. If you don’t let them cool completely, the sticks will spin and the pie pop will fall off because the jam is still warm and liquidy, so it won’t hold to the stick until it’s completely cool.
